Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees oversees all property interests and manages the temporal concerns of New Jerusalem A.M.E. Church.

• Keep an exact account of all money and provisions collected for the support of the Church.
• Seek the needy and distressed in order to relieve and comfort them.

Service Term: Trustees serve one conference year and are elected annually by the members.

Church Ushers Ministry

Ushers serve as spiritual lay leaders who help set the tone for worship and hospitality.

• Welcome members and visitors with a warm smile and assist with seating.
• Introduce visitors and collect visitor information.
• Maintain order in and around the sanctuary during services.
• Support the pastor to ensure a worshipful environment.

Sons of Allen (Men’s Ministry)

Uniting men in discipleship, fellowship, and service in the legacy of Richard Allen.

• Lead men to an acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
• Organize and empower men in evangelism, stewardship, and leadership.
• Teach AME history, doctrine, and polity.
• Model Christian witness at home, work, church, and community.
• Mentor young men; develop youth ministries and scouting.
• Engage in outreach, service, and ecumenical relations.

Stewards Ministry

Stewards support pastoral ministry and care for the congregation’s spiritual and physical needs.

• Assist in the administration of church finances and sacraments.
• Provide congregational care alongside pastoral leadership.
• Model Christian discipleship and accountability.
